Technique to cough correctly


  • Coughing Technique

  • Sit on a chair with feet on the floor.

  • Take a slow, deep breath through your nose.

  • Hold for 2 counts.

  • Lean forward slightly

  • Cough twice—2 short coughs.

  • Relax for a few seconds .

  • Repeat the steps as needed.



Technique to Huffing correctly


  • Sit on a chair with feet on the floor

  • Take a slow, deep breath through your nose.

  • Hold for 2 counts

  • To breathe out, open your mouth & make a “huff” sound in your throat (The same way you might breathe to clean a pair of eyeglasses)

  • Huff 2 to 3 times as you breathe out

  • Relax for a few seconds



Coughing etiquettes


  • Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, throw the tissue immediately into the thrash can

  • Resort to coughing into your elbow if no tissue ; never into open air

  • Always turn your face away from people around you when coughing or sneezing

  • Wash your hands often and with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer after you cough or sneeze.

  • Don’t touch your mouth, nose or eyes or surfaces with unwashed hands.

  • Refrain from shaking hands, kissing or hugging.

  • If you’re sick, steer clear of others, especially those who are considered high-risk.
